07/24/2022We went to dinner at Rye last night and Oh.M.Gee. It was so delicious! They describe their food as “midwestern recipes, traditions, and culture using local Kansas & Missouri flavors and farmers”. If you’re ever in Leawood or on the Plaza, do yourself a favor and try Rye. I can count on one hand the restaurants I would consider absolute favorites and Rye is now on of them.
This week’s menu is inspired by last night’s dinner. Goat cheese and honey is now going to be a staple in my diet. I was never a huge fan of plain goat cheese. But mix it with honey and prepare to experience a moment of heaven. Spread it on crusty bread and I’m pretty sure that’s what is served in heaven nightly. We shared a half fried chicken meal, each ate a breast and still had a breast and two wings to bring home. Quite possibly the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. We prefer white meat which tends to be dry but this was so juicy. Next time we go back, which will be as often as possible, we are trying the bone-in tomahawk ribeye for two. My mouth is already watering.
