I don’t know what it is about the joy seeing hummingbirds brings. I have to keep my self from jumping up and down and squealing each time I see the tiny birds drinking from the feeder outside my kitchen window.
I enjoy the challenge of finding unique thrift store finds for my home. I think it’s safe to say, this find is unique. When I stumbled across this item at Goodwill, you know I had to buy it for my little bird friends. I could be wrong, but in my mind, this is a hummingbird feeder for a flower pot. There is no hole in the end of the spike so it can’t be a drip waterer for a plant. Maybe it’s just a shelf decoration? If I’m wrong about it being a hummingbird feeder, enjoy a chuckle at my crazy imagination and leave a comment on this post as to what it is actually. Please and thank you.
I tucked the glass flower into a flower pot on the back patio in the same vicinity of my hanging feeder and the flowers in the garden where the hummingbirds visit often. Now we wait to see which option they like the best, if the ants don’t get to it first. We also wait to see if I’m way off on what this glass flower is really meant to be.
I’ll be sharing more Thrifted Thursday finds occasionally. Who knows what I’ll come up with next.
UPDATE: I have been informed of the real use for this glass flower vessel. It’s a vase for a fresh flower stem. How cute! I love unique vases.
