THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS
03/07/2022Spring is just around the corner and I can feel my mood improving as the daylight lasts longer and longer. The winter slump is almost over – even though as I write this, there are multiple chances of freezing rain and snow expected this week. Look at me and my glass half full attitude! Daylight savings time is next Sunday and official spring arrives in two weeks. I’ve got the itch to open the doors, let the light in, fill my beloved diffusers with fresh scents, clean and refresh the house for spring with some of my favorite things I’ve gather for March.
Disco Balls // I put them out for New Year’s Eve and just couldn’t put them away. Any given sunny afternoon, the light flows into the living room and reflects sparkles of light onto the walls and ceiling. No matter how good or bad the day, it always makes me happy to see the sparkles. I’ve decided they will remain out throughout the year – because I love them and that’s all that matters.
Large Room Humidifier // My cracking winter skin and dry plants needed more than my little decorative diffusers in the house throughout the winter. When Mandi from Happy Happy Houseplant did a review of humidifiers on Instagram, I went straight to the computer and purchased this large room humidifier. Bonus-when I bought it, I had no idea that you could add essential oils to it. Now my skin and plants are happily hydrated for the rest of the winter and my house smells delightful. 10/10 recommend.
Modern Diffuser // Did I really need another diffuser? Probably not but isn’t it cute? So much more stylish than most diffusers out there. I couldn’t resist.
Capri BLUE Volcano Essential Oil // A volcano candle in essential oil form? Heck YES! It’s the perfect spring scent. I can’t get enough. It makes me want to clean the house and I need all the motivation I can get for that.
FlutterHabit DIY Eyelashes // I naturally have short, stick straight eyelashes. I tried professional last extensions and loved them until the girl I went to stopped doing them. I’ve missed them ever since. I tried magnetic lashes and they were okay but I was always paranoid the magnets were coming loose and everyone in the room realized it but me. Enter FlutterHabit DIY lashes. They adhere to the bottom of your natural lashes, last at least 5 days (though I usually get closer to 2 weeks out of them) and cost $5 per set. My motto this year is “do what makes you happy” and these eyelashes make me happy.
Microwave Popcorn Popper // A quick popcorn snack doesn’t get easier than fixing it in this microwave popcorn popper. Just use the lid to measure out the popcorn kernels, cook in the microwave for three minutes and you have perfect popcorn with no need for oil or butter. You can also take it up a notch and add a pat of butter to the lid. The butter will drip down and coat the kernels as they pop. It’s even easy enough for little ones to make their own after school snack. Two thumbs up for that!
Movie Theater Butter + Seasoning // For the ultimate at-home movie experience, you NEED authentic movie theater popcorn with that super unhealthy “butter”. Trust me, the stuff at the grocery store is not the same. Embrace the oily, faux butter and go for the real deal. It’s like you’re actually in the movie theater minus the chatty Kathy behind you.
