THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE | 2022
11/02/2022Welcome. I’m thankful you are here.
While many went straight to decorating for Christmas the day after Halloween, I’m over here making things cozy for Thanksgiving.
I pulled in all the things that remind me of the holiday and added them to my Thanksgiving tablescape – pine cones, dried florals, feathers, turkeys and pumpkins, candles and the old cornucopia I bought at Hobby Lobby years ago.
Glass containers from Target dollar spot came in handy for the feathers.
I actually found these little pumpkin potpourri things at Home Depot of all places. The wooden pumpkin bowl is from Hobby Lobby this year.
The tablescape is made extra special by using my grandma’s gold-rimmed glassware.
I shared a tutorial on how to make the cute pumpkin napkins HERE.
All the dried florals I had on hand and have used in other ways in the past. The pinecones are from our yard. I dried artichokes specifically to use on my Thanksgiving tablescape. Stay tuned. I’ll share the simple drying process soon as well as how I dried the pinecones to remove any bugs and sap.
I started a few years ago collecting brass candlestick holders as I find them at antique stores. Part of my collection is used on the table. The other half I used in my living room with fall colored candlesticks.
I wish I could host you all in person because the table by candlelight as the sun sets is even prettier in person.
I found these turkey salt and pepper shakers at an antique store last year. My daughter thought I was crazy but I love them. They remind me of Thanksgivings past. And I will use them every single year until these Thanksgivings turn into memories of Thanksgivings past for my kids and future grandkids. She will love them one day.
Even the temporary trim in the kitchen doesn’t take away from the pretty tablescape. It’s on the To Do list to get that painted because who knows when we’ll get around to remodeling the kitchen. As I always say, take what you have and make it as pretty as possible. Not everyone is lucky enough to have brand new everything. Love what you have.
Whether you are decorating for Thanksgiving, Christmas or nothing at all, I’m wishing you a happy holiday season filled with cozy meals and loved ones.
