SUPER BOWL LVII | GO CHIEFS!
02/06/2023It’s super bowl week and I’m reaaadddy! Since my living room isn’t large enough to hold everyone, I’m inviting you in early for a peek at the setup for the big game on Sunday. Throughout the week I’ll be sharing the DIYs in my setup and a few of the recipes I’ll be making. I hope you’ll stick around.
The dining room will be the central food and beverage location so it is decked out in Chiefs red and gold. l I love to decorate for a party!
This two-tiered tray typically holds fruits and vegetables in the kitchen. Here I repurposed it as a snack tray. I cut short lengths of a red and gold foil curtain to line the baskets, added twinkle lights and filled with a variety of candies, chips and crackers.
The football utensil holder has been used at multiple college tailgate parties for both kids and I pulled it out again for the Super Bowl. I literally just spray painted an empty soup can brown and added laces using the Cricut and adhesive vinyl. Laces could also be drawn with a paint pen or painted with a paint brush.
The popcorn containers were a wedding gift 29 years ago. They are still fun to use for movie nights and now the Super Bowl.
Instead of bowls, use a brown paper lunch sack to hold salted peanuts, chips or pretzels. I added laces using electrical tape. They could be drawn or painted, as well.
Would you believe the gold pom poms are my mom’s sister’s from high school? I played with them when I was young, my daughter played with them, I’ve used them at the studio for purple and gold shoots and now they are serving as decoration for the Super Bowl. To add a touch of red, I cut more pieces of the red and gold foil curtain and laid them on top.
For parties, I really just search what I have on hand and think of how I can repurpose things to fit the party theme. Steal the footballs from the kids, spray paint a soup can, add some tape laces to a lunch sack, repurpose the grad. party centerpiece sprays. The simplest things make cute party decor. Add in a few balloons and it looks like you went all out.
I’m ready to cheer on the Chiefs to hopefully another Super Bowl win! What are your plans for the big game?
