It’s been a little over a week since the upsetting Super Bowl loss. We have had time to come to terms with the disappointing showing. But hey, how many teams can say they have been to three consecutive Super Bowls or five of the last six Super Bowls? I say that’s pretty awesome! It may have not turned out the way we had hoped but I still wanted to document this year’s Super Bowl party. I’ve been able to grow my KC party decor each year. If they keep going in the years to come, it may end up looking like red and gold Christmas in here. You know I love any reason to decorate! Not one, not two but three rooms had Chiefs decorations this year.

…Starting in the dining room…

The balloon centerpiece is recycled from the kids’ graduation parties.

The sign was a new addition this year and turned out to be very apropos.

…On to the entryway…
PARTY TIP: No helium needed. Tape balloons to the wall or ceiling with painters tape to make them look like they are floating.

The board and batten we just added here isn’t painted but who cares. There was a Super Bowl party to prep!

…The living room…

…And the kitchen…

…But wait, there’s more…

Couldn’t forge the outside.

PARTY TIP: Change plain exterior soffit lights to colored by covering each light with transparent gel film sheets secured with painters tape.

Overall, it was a fun night despite the outcome with good food, friends, dogs and lots of party decorations.

PARTY TIP: Set out a polaroid camera, take photos of the guests as they arrive to the party and add them to to a bulletin board.

We were ready with red and gold fireworks were the Chiefs to win a third consecutive Super Bowl. Unfortunately, now we have fireworks ready for the 4th of July.
