SPRING, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL WINTER?
03/20/2018It’s finally the first day of spring. You have no idea how much I’ve been looking forward to this day after a long, cold winter. I’m so ready to bring some light, bright spring touches into the house now that March has arrived! And with Easter just around the corner, time for Easter decor, too. Living in a fixer upper isn’t always the most fun but I decorate where I can. Seeing the cute spring/Easter touches make me happy even if the rest of the rooms have dated wallpaper or ripped out walls. Here is a little peek at this year’s spring greens and Easter touches around our home.
What you can’t tell from this photo is the bench is up against a patched bare sheet rock wall where I removed the brown wallpaper because I couldn’t take the darkness anymore. Adding these fun touches makes me not notice the wall as much until we have time to finish it. I’m loving everything blush colored this spring. I grabbed the blush pillow covers last weekend for $4 each at Ikea, pulled out a matching blanket scarf I already had, added an Easter basket from years ago and the sign I made from pallet wood and BOOM, spring has sprung.
I’ve had these plants for years. I usually move them outside for the summer. Last fall I forgot about them and left them out too long. I thought they were goners but I brought them inside and look at them now. I wasn’t thrilled with the pots they were in so I bought these cute baskets from Home Goods and stuck the ugly pots inside. Now I’m not sure I want to move them outside because they are so cute.
Just a touch of Easter in the kitchen along with the last hurrah cookies I made before I started Keto and can’t eat them anymore.
Everyone told me I won’t want a dining room. It’s just a waste of space. I LOVE my dining room! It’s one of my favorite spaces to decorate each season. And, by the way, we use our dining room all the time for friends & family get togethers. The cork holder, cake stand, bunnies & eggs are from previous years at Target. Gotta love the Dollar Bins at Target. Looking for a mirror? I always start at Kirkland’s for mirrors and use a coupon to keep the price down. This one is from years ago but I still love it.
Simple dining room table decor with fresh eucalyptus and layered placemats. I didn’t have bunnies so I used my owl salt and pepper shakers. Cute enough for me.
No truer words have been spoken. Winter is not for me. Spring, I love…not as much as summer…but close.
