SIMPLE VALENTINE’S AFTER SCHOOL/DINNER SNACK
02/13/2023Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. I have one last simple Valentines idea for you if you’re looking for a fun after school or after dinner snack – milk and cookies but make it pink and red.
Dress simple wafer cookies up for Valentine’s by dipping one end into melting chocolate and adding a few pink, red or purple sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
Add a glass of strawberry milk and you have a quick and easy Valentine’s treat that will make your little loves feel extra special.
A simple heart straw is a fun extra touch.
Stock up and use them next year on your Valentine’s table. Put them out the first of February and let the kids use them leading up to Valentine’s Day.
Add heart spoons for snacks like yogurt, apple sauce, Jell-O, pudding or ice cream.
Gather any Valentine’s related tableware and put them on a tray on the kitchen table – red paper plates, pink napkins, plastic or silicone straws, heart cookie cutters, Valentine mugs, etc. Whatever you have to make the day festive.
Tiny touches like these make special memories kids will hold in their hearts as they grow older.
The milk jar is a $2 antique store find. Melamine bowls, plates and mugs were collected from Target, TJ Maxx and Home Goods. The best part is, they are inexpensive and can be used over and over so the kids can look forward to using them each year.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you and the ones you love! Enjoy a cookie for me.
