Did you know you can easily propagate some veggies & herbs to double your harvest?
Cut off the ends of green onions, place them in water until the roots grow longer and they begin to sprout, then plant in your garden for new green onions.

The same can be done for basil by taking a cutting from an existing plant.

Mint works, too.

Even tomato cuttings can be propagated in water.
By simply taking cuttings and placing them in water until roots form, you can double crops at no extra cost. And by propagating early in the season, you are succession planting which extends the produce season.
