PEANUT BUTTER + BANANA FROZEN DOG TREATS
07/21/2023It’s hot outside and my spotted puppy girls don’t enjoy the heat. They are also a bit on the chunky side so healthy snacks are best. And what dog doesn’t love peanut butter? Using ingredients I had on hand, I whipped up some frozen peanut butter and banana dog treats for the dog days of summer.

We typically always have bananas on hand in our house. Occasionally, a few start to turn brown before we can eat them. When that happens, I usually pop them in the freezer to use later for banana bread or smoothies. This time I pulled out a couple bananas from the freezer for these homemade dog treats.

The main ingredients are 2 bananas and 1/4 cup peanut butter. If you don’t want to dirty a blender or mixer, you can just mash the two ingredients together. I used a blender and added a couple tablespoons of plain greek yogurt that was left in the bottom of the container and a little water blended together with the peanut butter and bananas to make a scoop-able consistency. I filled two silicone paw print trays and popped them in the freezer.

The girls love them and I don’t feel guilty giving them a treat now and then while they are watching their figures.
