Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I’m not one bit Irish but I still enjoy any reason to celebrate. This weekend our little town held a “Shamrock Shimmy” event downtown with food trucks, live music and a UTV/Jeep line up where locals decorated their UTVs and Jeeps for St. Patrick’s Day. My daughter talked me into decorating a UTV with her. This is what we came up with from a quick Amazon order and an old moving box in the basement. A little paint and glitter turned a simple cardboard box into the cutest decorations. And this is the final product. The foil fringe shimmered in the sun like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. It was a fun challenge to decorate a UTV and I think it turned out pretty adorable. If you look closely in this video, you can see where a little boy came...
Another week has flown by which means time to plan for the new week ahead. Here is what we...

Super Bowl champions again! Yay, Chiefs! I fully intended to have this post up before the big game but things didn’t completely come together until 5 minutes after people arrived. I made everyone wait to dig in to the food so I could get a few photos. The lighting wasn’t ideal but I’m just glad I was able to get some photos of this year’s Super Bowl party decorations and food. As with any holiday or yearly party, most of what I decorate with are things I’ve collected over the years. The confetti is from last year’s AFC championship game that I now use for decoration. I stuck them in glass vases with twinkle lights, made a felt pennant...

It’s Super Bowl week and I’m in full party planning mode. This year’s party is inspired by none-other than the Swifties. Of course I had to make a friendship bracelet banner to root on the Chiefs. I made the “letter beads” out of a 1″ sheet of foam. A cookie cutter would have been ideal to cut the circles but mine was too small for the letters I purchased. Anything open on both ends will work so the circle of foam can be pushed out. It will be very snug. The letters beads were completed with black stickers spelling out “Lets Go Chiefs”. For the colored “beads”, I used play pit balls in Chiefs colors. They are very soft plastic which made it easy to thread fishing line through using a large needle. I strung the colored beads and foam beads on fishing line to complete the banner. I...
