How it started…4 bare acres behind our house…and a man that dreamed of a bigger garage. It was finally time to put the indoor projects on hold and begin construction on his long awaited building/garage. Of course as luck would have it, just before we started construction last fall, lumber prices spiked. We waited it out for 6 months and then decided to bite the bullet this summer. To offset the cost of the lumber, we scratched hiring a building crew and built it on our own with the help of family and friends. (My job was to take photos. I’m not sure he’s as excited about it as I am but I think we might have started a new tradition – a yearly mom and son Christmas DIY project. Last year we made these cute wooden block houses. (We did another project this year that l’ll share soon.) I’m going to do my best to keep the new tradition alive next year. 🙂 I originally got this wooden house idea from @AngelaRoseHome on Instagram. You also can find her project instructions on her blog. After a week of vacation/eating out and the cold temps. here this week, I’m ready for some good old fashioned home-cooked meals. Who is going to cook them for me? Actually, my crockpot is going to do most of the work for me this week unless I get other takers to cook for me. You’ve got to love the crockpot. Throw it in in the morning and it’s magically ready in the evening. Then on Friday I’m going to put my birthday present to use and try out the Blackstone. I’ve used it once so far and I love it. The cooking space is so much larger than a skillet so you can cook everything at once and it all comes off the grill hot at the same time. And the cleanup is ten times easier.
