RAISED GARDEN BEDS | HOW WE MADE THEM
07/05/2022
A few years ago for Mother’s Day, my son built me two raised garden beds in the backyard. This year for Mother’s Day, he built me two more. Now I just need a few more to complete my vision. I mean, the more the better but I’m trying to be reasonable. Plus, I have to be sure to leave room in the backyard for my some-day swimming pool. A girl can dream, right? For now, four garden beds are a wonderful start. I snapped a few photos along the way as I sat with my feet up watching on Mother’s Day. This is the second house we have built these raised garden beds and, for us, this method has worked perfectly. There are many different ways to build a raised garden bed. This is what has worked for us. Here are the supplies we used for two 4’x8′ raised...

REAL vs. FAUX OUTDOOR PLANTS

From the road, you really can’t tell which are real and which are artificial. Can you tell from these photos? I admit, it is easier to tell what is faux in up close...
I can’t even believe the 4th of July is just over a week away. Now that the cold weather...
DELIVERY TREATS | RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
06/21/2022
It’s only the first day of summer and the temperatures hit 100 degrees today. For all working outside in the heat, I know it has to be miserable. I wish I could offer something for everyone working outdoors in the summer but what I can do is carry on the holiday tradition of leaving treats for the delivery drivers on the front porch. If there is ever a time they could use a cold drink, I’m sure it’s now. And I’m not just appreciative of the delivery people that are kind enough to walk the extra distance to my front door during the holidays. I appreciate them and all the packages they leave all year round! This is the setup I leave out each morning on the front porch. I went to Costco and found all the treats I could that wouldn’t melt in the heat. The cute stand...
This is our house the day we closed five years ago. Very charming but a little hidden and dated....
