THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE | 2022
11/02/2022
Welcome. I’m thankful you are here. While many went straight to decorating for Christmas the day after Halloween, I’m over here making things cozy for Thanksgiving. I pulled in all the things that remind me of the holiday and added them to my Thanksgiving tablescape – pine cones, dried florals, feathers, turkeys and pumpkins, candles and the old cornucopia I bought at Hobby Lobby years ago. Glass containers from Target dollar spot came in handy for the feathers. I actually found these little pumpkin potpourri things at Home Depot of all places. The wooden pumpkin bowl is from Hobby Lobby this year. The tablescape is made extra special by using my grandma’s gold-rimmed glassware. I shared a tutorial on how to make the cute pumpkin napkins HERE. All the dried florals I had on hand and have used in other ways in the past. The pinecones are from our...

HALLOWEEN PARTY FOOD SPREAD
10/25/2022
Originally, the plan was to have our bi-annual bonfire to burn the giant brush pile on our property. However, the weather had a different idea. It was too windy and dry for a bonfire so our party turned into an impromptu Halloween party in the barn. There is nothing I like more than a theme to plan a party around. Here is a peek at the spooky food spread. We were able to have a small fire in a fire pit where people could roast hot dogs and s’mores. This was my take on a charcuterie board using the amputated hand idea from TikTok and my roasted pumpkin seeds. I used mini Halloween cookie cutters to cut out the cheese shapes. Taco meat made in advance and then warmed in a crockpot for the party is an easy idea. Chex Mix is always a fall staple Sweet Crispix Mix...

WITCH’S BREW | HALLOWEEN SIMMER POT
10/20/2022
It’s the time of year to brew up a delightful smelling pot of goodness that will fill the entire house with magical scents. Let’s make a batch of witch’s brew potpourri for the stovetop. Gather up the ingredients. No need to measure. Just throw in what you want. I really wanted blood red oranges for this recipe but couldn’t find them anywhere. That’s ok. Regular oranges smell just as good. Add all ingredients to a pot of water. Bring just to a boil then turn heat down to simmer. To make the brew more festive, add a few drops of red and blue food coloring to the water for the perfect shade of spooky purple. This step is totally optional but it’s perfectly Halloween. Continue to simmer and enjoy the yummy scent. Add additional water to the pot as needed. Do not to let the water boil away completely....
