FORAGING + DRYING PINECONES FOR DECOR

I use pinecones from my yard in so many different ways both inside and out. I’ve shared before how I love using nature’s free gifts to decorate. We have many pine trees around our property so pinecones are always plentiful and FREE. It’s time to replenish my stock before decorating for Christmas so I’m sharing how I bake them in the oven to eliminate any bugs or sticky sap when I bring them inside. Here I am collecting pinecones after work one day. I can only imagine what the neighbors think of my crazy antics outside. To dry the pinecones, I just place them on a foil-lined cookie sheet and bake at 275 degrees for about 45 minutes to an hour. The whole house smells like fresh pine while they bake. CLOTH PUMPKIN NAPKINS

How cute are these pumpkin napkins? They are really easy to make. Let me show you. All you need are orange cloth napkins, basic napkin rings and cinnamon sticks. You can use any round napkin rings and any cloth napkins. Exact items I used are linked below. Just pull the center of the napkin through the ring, fold napkin corners in, tuck fabric into the ring and finish with a cinnamon stick in the middle. See the video below to watch the process. HALLOWEEN SALTY BONES BREADSTICKS

How about a fun Halloween treat that isn’t filled with sugar? If you can turn on an oven and set a timer, you can make these. I promise. Simply take a package of refrigerated breadstick dough and cut each strip in half to make shorter breadsticks. Then cut a 1 1/2″ slit on both ends of each breadstick. Roll the ends under to make “bones”. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and garlic salt. You could brush with melted butter before adding parmesan and garlic salt, if desired.
