FRUGAL KITCHEN DECOR
01/27/2023
Most all of us have cookbooks, spices, cutting boards and some sort of fruit or veggie in our kitchen. Why not use them as decor until ready to cook with them? Put spices into cute jars. Pull out cookbooks that coordinate with the kitchen colors and line them up or stack them on the counter. Add warm tones with cutting boards. Store fruit or vegetables in a pretty bowl. If you have it on hand and it looks nice, put it on display.

DIY CAST IRON SEASONING
01/24/2023
Here is a funny now but not funny then story for you. When I was first married and learning to cook, we inherited a cast iron skillet from my husband’s grandma. My mother-in-law made a comment about the perfectly seasoned cast iron skillet I sold for a buck in a garage sale twenty years earlier. I had no idea what I had at the time. I bet someone was thrilled with their...

THIEVES HOUSEHOLD CLEANER RECIPE
01/20/2023
I’m really into smells throughout the house this winter. I’ll be honest, winter makes me crabby-er. To me yummy scents add to the coziness of my home and improve my winter mood. I’ll be the first to admit, I’ve always used regular store-bought cleaners. That is until I tried this thieves household cleaner recipe. Use this and your house will smell of cloves, spices and lemon. It’s amazing! And to top it off, the thieves concentrate is made with plant-based, all natural ingredients. You can literally use it on almost any surface – counters, walls, floors, to clean carpets, mirrors, appliances, highchairs – the list goes on and on. Look at me being healthy and in a better mood!! The recipe to make the Thieves cleaner is very easy to mix up. You’ll just need a spray bottle, 1 capful of thieves concentrate, and 16 ounces distilled water. I...
