DIY FOOTBALL FIELD TURF COASTERS
02/07/2023
I have a 5 minutes DIY for you today that is perfect for a Super Bowl party. And when you’re done with them you can use them to clean up after the party if you want. Turn a $2 set of scour pads into football field turf coasters using a flat paint brush and white craft paint. Just dip the brush into the paint and stamp on the yard lines. I mean, how cute are these coasters?!

PEANUT BUTTER BIRDSEED PINE CONES
02/03/2023
Remember when I shared all the ways I use pine cones around my house? Here is another way. I repurpose them for the birds. To make, tie jute, yarn or string to pine cones for hanging. In a medium bowl, mix 2 parts peanut butter to 1 part cornmeal until combined. Pour a layer of birdseed onto a rimmed cookie sheet. Spread the peanut butter mixture over pine cones, then roll in birdseed until thoroughly coated. Hang outside for the birds. I like to make a batch of pinecones, wrap individually in waxed paper and freeze. Then I have plenty on hand to replenish as needed. BIRD BED AND BREAKFAST

It’s day two of the week that’s for the birds. Today we have a variety of bird bed and breakfasts. Heehee. The birds can eat and when their belly gets full, they can nap. These are actual wooden birdhouses covered with bird-friendly “glue” and birdseed. They are so fun. Edible birdhouses would be a fun snow day project with the kids if you’re good with a little rogue birdseed ending up on the floor. Simply brush the bird-friendly edible glue (I used a silicone basting brush) onto a wooden birdhouse and press birdseed into the glue. Add extra decorative touches with bird edibles like unsalted peanuts, dried cranberries, raisins, mealworms, cracked corn, suet nuggets, quick or rolled oats, cheerios or crushed egg shells. Keep in mind, rain may dissolve the “glue”. It’s best to hang under a covered surface for bring in if rain is a possibility. Since the...
