ST. PATRICK’S RED ASPEN DIY NAILS
02/21/2023
Let’s get festive! You should know that I will use any reason to celebrate. I’m not Irish but I for sure will be wearing all the green for St. Patrick’s Day. You should also know that I love my Red Aspen nails. They are do-it-yourself glue-on nails that last for about two weeks. Then you simply peel them off and start fresh. They don’t destroy your natural nails and are very easy to put on in about 10-15 minutes. They can be cut down and filed just like regular nails but better. No breaking and if one pops off, just glue it right back on. I despise making appointments and love anything DIY so these nails are right up my alley. For reference, petite nails are perfect for children. I wear the short nail dashes. There are also medium and long options, square, coffin and almond options, and even...

DIY GALLERY RAIL SHELVES
02/17/2023
Ta-Da! New shelves. And we made them from scratch. This is what was on the wall previously. While I liked the rails, they have been there for many years and I was ready for a change. So we took these IKEA rails down and replaced them with the gallery rail shelves. The new shelves give a more traditional look rather than the farmhouse look of the black rails. And the shelves allow more places for more plants. Yay! This is the wood we used and cut down to two 24 inch long pieces. I lightly sanded and stained the wood using the same Early American stain we used on our wood floors. I opted not to seal the shelves because (1) nothing wet will be placed on them to create rings and (2) the select pine is super smooth which makes it easy to dust even when not sealed...

FOOTBALL HAM & CHEESE ROLL-UPS
02/10/2023
To round out the week of Super Bowl party ideas we have a buttery, delicious appetizer recipe. If you squint just right, they even look like footballs. I first made these at Christmas as Christmas Trees and they were amazing. Since I’ve just rolled them up into spirals. Yes, I love them so I make them often. For Super Bowl, I attempted to make them look like footballs. You can find the original recipe HERE in the comments. I followed the directions exactly but rolled 1/2″ strips into spirals. Then I pressed the spiral into a football shape before baking. These roll-ups are buttery deliciousness. They also reheat well on the off chance that there are leftovers. They are definitely a win. Let’s hope the Chiefs get a win this weekend, as well!
