HOMEMADE ROSE BATH SALTS
05/09/2023
I’ve got another Mother’s Day gift idea for you today. I actually made it for myself because (1) it smells like fresh roses (2) the salts help relax muscles (3) the rose oil is good for the skin and (4) it’s cute decor on the shelf when I’m not using it. Is there a mom that doesn’t need an excuse for a long soak in the bathtub in the peace and quiet surrounded by all her favorite bathtime things? Make her a batch of homemade rose bath salts and she’ll feel like she’s soaking in a bathtub of fresh roses. Take it up another notch by making her this DIY bath tray to hold her favorite bath items. And, if you’re going for favorite status, add a bottle of wine, fresh flowers, a scented candle, a hair clip and a good book or magazine. You’ll be her favorite person...

SPRAY PAINTING YOUR GARDEN POTS
05/05/2023
I shared last week on my Instagram stories how I refreshed my old garden pots and urns to make them look bran new again. I thought it was worth a spot on the blog, as well. The urn below used to be brown. I purchased it probably 12 years ago or more. You can see here it was looking worn at our old house when this photo was taken in 2013. When we moved to our house now, I spray painted it black and it looks like it’s ready for another 12 years of use. To touch up my pots, I simply use a stiff broom to remove any dirt and then spray paint. Be...

HOMEMADE TACO SEASONING
05/02/2023
With Cinco de Mayo coming up in a few days, it’s time to get prepared by making our own clean homemade taco seasoning. I like to make multiple batches at a time and store it in an airtight jar so it’s on hand whenever I need it. It can be stored for up to a year so make plenty and never have to worry about running to the grocery store for a packet of taco seasoning again. When making your own homemade taco seasoning, don’t be afraid to adjust the ingredients and measurements to your liking. For instance, I am not a fan or oregano or spicy/hot so I omit the oregano and red pepper flakes from my seasoning. If you really like pepper, add more. Can’t do salt? Don’t add it. Play around until you have perfected the perfect mixture for you. Then make plenty to last all...
