When living in a house that is being remodeled slowly room by room, it’s necessary to live with things as they are for awhile. Such is the case with our master bedroom. I’ve hung up a few odds and ends in the bedroom but it’s just not “done” or cozy. Even though the room isn’t how I would like, that’s not going to stop me from making it cozy in the in between. Here is the boring before. The goal is to cozy things up using items found around the house. While it would be “internet worthy” to remove the alarm clock and coaster and make the entire area cute, that’s not reality. This is my husband’s side of the bed and he insists on an old fashioned alarm clock over his cell phone and his drink glass by the bedside at all times. Those items must stay. And...

CRAFT ROOM MOOD BOARD | BASEMENT REMODEL

If you follow me on my Instagram stories, you have seen the saga of our basement remodel. Long story short, below is how it started. Everything was torn out and we started from scratch. We’re remodeling the full basement in stages. Phase 1 is my craft room. You can see where we moved an existing wall back to make more room for all my fun crafty stuff. In lieu of the existing drop ceiling, we opted to leave everything open and paint it black. Thanks to plenty of can lights, the black ceiling surprisingly doesn’t make the room too dark. Walls were studded in and sheet rocked. Board and batten has since been added and now we are to the fun design part where I can take over. This is a peek at what I have planned.
