I don’t know what it is about the joy seeing hummingbirds brings. I have to keep my self from jumping up and down and squealing each time I see the tiny birds drinking from the feeder outside my kitchen window. I enjoy the challenge of finding unique thrift store finds for my home. I think it’s safe to say, this find is unique. When I stumbled across this item at Goodwill, you know I had to buy it for my little bird friends. I could be wrong, but in my mind, this is a hummingbird feeder for a flower pot. There is no hole in the end of the spike so it can’t be a drip waterer for a plant. Maybe it’s just a shelf decoration? If I’m wrong about it being a hummingbird feeder, enjoy a chuckle at my crazy imagination and leave a comment on this post...

BACK PATIO REVEAL
08/07/2023
It took a year and a half from start to finish but it’s finally done (almost). You can see HERE where we started. I can’t express to you how much I love the back patio. The pavers still need to be sealed to bring out the colors in the stone but we can’t seem to get a weekend stretch without rain. Instead of holding out, I decided to go ahead and enjoy the patio until fall. When we put...

HOMEGROWN GIFTS FROM THE GARDEN
08/01/2023

They have been brining over bags of tomatoes every night. Not wanting any fresh produce to go to waste, I spent a few hours last weekend making a large batch of homemade spaghetti sauce. I looked up various spaghetti sauce recipes and combined a few to create my own sauce. Ten pounds of tomatoes along with fresh basil, parsley, onions and garlic from my garden simmered together to make four jars of preservative-free, zero added sugar goodness. After a delicious Sunday dinner of spaghetti and homemade crusty bread, I froze two jars of sauce for later use. I thanked the neighbors for sharing their tomato harvest with the final jar along with a bunch of fresh...
