DIY PAINTED HALLOWEEN WOODEN SPOONS
09/21/2023
Even the kitchen needs a touch of Halloween in my house. These DIY painted wooden spoons turned out cuter than I thought they would. The spoons were $1 each at Dollar General. They were actually bamboo spoons. The paint was just acrylic craft paint. I went with a primitive vibe for my black cat and pumpkin spoons. I began by painting two coats of the base color on each spoon. Once dried completely, I sanded the edges to remove a bit of the paint for a vintage look. Then I added the face details with a fine paint brush. Once the paint was completely dry, I added a coat of stain all over the spoons to bring out the primitive feel. Finished spoons could also be sprayed with sealer to protect the paint, if desired. NOTE: Obviously, these spoons are for decoration only and are not food-safe once painted/stained.

FREE HALLOWEEN PRINTABLES
09/13/2023
Did you know there are tons of FREE Halloween printable options (for personal use only) on the web? It’s a cost-effective way to decorate for Halloween. I have complied a few of my favorite options for you. For more options, search Pinterest or Google “free Halloween printables” or “free Halloween printables wall art“. An inexpensive option for printing is through Office Depot. For 4×6 up to 11×17, I order custom flyers on matte card stock. For larger sizes, I order blueprints for around $3-$4. Hang the prints on clipboards. Frame them. Hang using a magnetic poster hanger. Or stick directly on the wall with sticky tack poster putty. Here are some of the ways I display free printables around my house.
