OUTDOOR CHRISTMAS TABLE
12/04/2023
A few weeks ago we put away all the patio furniture for the winter. The new back patio was bare awaiting the winter snow. I wished I had a table that could be left out all winter but didn’t want to chance ruining our teak dining table and chairs. Apparently I manifested the perfect table to sit out all winter. My son brought over this table that was left in an old shed he tore down at his house. It has one leg shorter than the other, holes drilled in the top and grease stains but…I absolutely love it! It was just begging for an outdoor tablescape. With a little Christmas magic of old cheap garland, fallen tree branches, pine cones from the yard and cheap votive candles collected over the years, I love it even more. I’m really looking for ways to beat the winter blues this season....

I’m starting to think that wasn’t such a good idea. Oh well. I’m not missing out on the holiday comfort foods and I’m certainly not missing out on Mexico in the middle of snow season! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed a leftover-filled weekend with no cooking. Unfortunately, the leftovers are gone here so back to cooking dinners this week. Here is what we have on our dinner menu. Recipe links are included if you want to try some of the meal ideas yourself. Have a good week ahead! RECORD PLAYER + VINTAGE CHRISTMAS RECORDS
11/16/2023
Last weekend my daughter and I visited our local antique shops. It’s become something we enjoy doing together every few months. On this trip we came across a pile of old Christmas records. The same records I remember my mom playing while she decorated for Christmas when I was little. I had been toying with the idea of getting a record player and this cemented the deal. A week later I have a new old-looking record player for my latest antique store finds just in time for Christmas decorating. I put it on my husband’s grandma’s antique table. I guess you could say I’m a bit sentimental this time of year. This specific record makes me feel twelve years old again playing in the basement. You can bet I will be listening to this while I’m decorating my own Christmas tree this year. Other additions to my new old...
