HOMEMADE SNOW PAINT
01/09/2024
We have a snow day here today. I thought it would be fun to try out homemade snow paint. Do I currently have you kids or grandkids? No. But I’m going to know how to make it when I do (hopefully) have grandkids. It was fun trying it out on my own anyway! Just add water to squeeze bottles or spray bottles and about 5 drops of food coloring. I tested regular grocery store food coloring and gel food coloring. Both worked great. Squeeze or spray water mixture onto snow and see what you can create. I recommend using in grassy areas only in the event the food coloring were to stain. I wish I would have known about this when my kids were little. So cool.

2024 WINTER FRONT PORCH REFRESH
01/06/2024
What does one do when they should be resting in bed while sick? Go out in the 30-degree weather and revamp the front porch for winter, of course. The porch needed some oomph for the doldrums of winter. I’ve said this before – one simple thing usually sparks an idea for whatever space I’m decorating. In this case, it was a plaid scarf sitting in the closet. I took an old grapevine wreath and simply tied on the scarf using red ribbon. I found coordinating plaid pillow covers for the rockers. For the urns, I removed the bows and ornaments from Christmas then added iced branches and more pine stems for a winter look. The touch of plaid added the perfect bit of color for the winter. A little fresh air and a chance to decorate made me feel better if only for 10 minutes.

A LITTLE NEW YEAR’S SPARKLE
12/26/2023
🎵What are you doing New Year’s Eve? 🎵 I’m getting in the spirit for the upcoming new year. I’ve never taken down Christmas and redecorated for New Year’s until this year in the living room this year. It’s so pretty and sparkly. I wish you could see it in person. The photos don’t do it justice. It was fun to try something new this year. I found these candle holders in a box from our wedding almost 30 years ago. Still pretty all these years later and perfect for New Year’s Eve. These are the champagne glasses from our wedding. Cheers! One can never had too many disco balls. Don’t want to decorate for the new year? Just put a new year’s screensaver on your TV for a festive touch. // Add art to any smart TV // Even the bust planter is getting in on the fun. My...
