LOW-CARB MARGARITA + CINCO DE MAYO BAR CART
05/04/2023I never pass up an opportunity to decorate and celebrate an occasion. I took three years of Spanish in high school and a half a semester in college before I dropped the class because I was lost. So I feel like I’m one with the Mexican culture and ready to celebrate.
My daughter may or may not have told me “the whitest thing I’ve ever done was putting flowers in an Old El Paso enchilada sauce can for Cinco de Mayo”.
Since I’ve been on the Keto train, I wanted a low-carb margarita option to enjoy on Cinco de Mayo. I have a pretty good recipe to share with you below.
These are the special ingredients to keeping it low-carb. Topo Chico, Zevia lemon-lime mixer and lime juice added to your favorite tequila make a pretty darn good Keto-friendly margarita. Dress up the rim of a margarita glass with salt or Tajin and you’ve got a party.

Whether you celebrate the day with tequila or tacos, enjoy! I don’t know the Spanish word for enjoy. They must have covered that after I dropped out of the class.
Low-Carb Keto Margarita
1
Ingredients
1 ounce tequila
1/2 can Zevia lemon-lime mixer
1 ounce lime juice
Topo Chico
Directions
- Add ice, tequila, lime juice and Zevia mixer into a shaker cup and shake lightly.
- If desired, add salt or Tajin to the rim of a margarita glass
- Pour tequila mixture into glass.
- Top off glass with Topo Chico.
Notes
- Zero sugar, zero carb lemon-lime soda can be used in place of the Zevia mixer, if desired.
