HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY CAKE DONUTS
07/12/2023I’m not a huge breakfast fan … unless donuts are involved. If there are donuts, I’ll be at the table every morning anxiously awaiting breakfast; preferably around 9:00am, please.
My daughter takes after her mother and enjoys baking all the sugary things. She recently made these strawberry donuts. I didn’t have a full-size donut pan so she used a mini pan instead. They turned out adorable. And they’re good for you, too, right? They have fresh strawberries on them.

To be 100% honest, they are glorified strawberry cake for breakfast. Which in my opinion is the best time to eat cake.

Ingredients
1 box strawberry cake mix
1 egg
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
Fresh strawberries, chopped
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray donut pan liberally with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, egg, oil, and water. Mix well until combined.
- Pour mixture into a large Ziploc bag, cutting off one corner of the bag. Pipe batter into prepared donut pan filling each cavity half full.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow donuts to cool 5 minutes.
- Remove cooled donuts from pan and place on a cooling rack to cool completely.
- For the icing, in a medium bowl, stir together confectioner's sugar and milk until mixture is smooth.
- Dip the top of each donut into the icing.
- Top with chopped strawberries.
