GRAPEVINE WREATH BIRD FEEDER
02/01/2023Next in the series of homemade bird treats is this bird feeder made from a grapevine wreath. It is beautiful to look at and even more fun when the birds stop by for a treat. This is one of my favorite DIYs.
Begin with the cheapest 10″ grease splatter screen you can find. I spray painted mine brown so it would blend in with the grapevine wreath.
Next top with a 10″ grapevine wreath and secure the two together with floral wire.
Tie on three pieces of jute for a hanger.
Decorate with natural items. I collected things from around the yard – a few sprigs of yew and pine, dried gum balls and oranges I dried in the oven – simply tucked into the wreath.
Fill the feeder with bird-friendly treats. I added bird seed, apple slices, unsalted peanuts, plain popcorn, raisins, dried cranberries and peanut suet nuggets.
Hang from a tree or garden stake and wait for the birds to visit.
I plan to change out the natural decorations with the each season. Since I simply stuck the items into the grapevine, it will be easy to switch up as desired.
I just adore this cute feeder and the birds it attracts. Other items in this series of homemade bird treats include bird bed and breakfast houses, a birdseed wreath, and homemade bird treats. The birds are going to LOVE my yard because I’ve made them all this winter.
