DIY STICK GARDEN MARKERS
03/03/2023It may just be the 1st week of March but it’s time to start planning this summer’s garden beds. This blog post is an oldie but goodie I first shared back in 2015. These garden plant markers are extremely simple and cost nothing to make.
The ugly plastic tags that come with the plants always tend to break off and disappear halfway through the summer.
Instead, let’s make cute plant markers that will last all season using sticks from fallen tree limbs.
Use garden shears to cut sticks to the length desired. Cut the bottom of each stick at an angle to make it easier to push it into the ground. Cut the top of each stick straight across.
Next, carefully use a knife to scrape off the layer of bark. I used what I think is a called a carpet knife and it worked perfectly.
Using a Sharpie maker, write plant names.
That’s it! DIY garden plant markers for FREE.
