DIY PAINTED HALLOWEEN WOODEN SPOONS
09/21/2023Even the kitchen needs a touch of Halloween in my house. These DIY painted wooden spoons turned out cuter than I thought they would.
The spoons were $1 each at Dollar General. They were actually bamboo spoons. The paint was just acrylic craft paint.

I went with a primitive vibe for my black cat and pumpkin spoons. I began by painting two coats of the base color on each spoon. Once dried completely, I sanded the edges to remove a bit of the paint for a vintage look. Then I added the face details with a fine paint brush. Once the paint was completely dry, I added a coat of stain all over the spoons to bring out the primitive feel. Finished spoons could also be sprayed with sealer to protect the paint, if desired.
NOTE: Obviously, these spoons are for decoration only and are not food-safe once painted/stained.
