SPOIL YOURSELF | DIY BATH BOMBS
06/01/2018Bath bombs can be expensive to buy. These easy DIY bombs look and work just as well as the ones in the stores. You can spend a day making them and then have plenty on hand to give away as gifts. Once you get the hang of them, you can use any basic bath bomb recipe and change it up by adding SLSA (Sodium Lauryl Sulfacetate) for bubbles, switch up the oils for different scents, and use various sprinkles & trinkets for different looks. It’s fun to experiment.
Below are samples of some of the bombs I made along with the recipes I used. You can also find tons of ideas and recipes on Pinterest. At the bottom of this post I’ll share links of all the supplies I purchased to make them.
CONFETTI BATH BOMBS
I used THIS RECIPE and tripled it to make 12 medium bath bombs. Instead of coloring the Epsom salt, I used plain Epsom salt and added edible confetti sprinkles.
LEMON BATH BOMBS
Here is the recipe I used.
CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM BUBBLE BATH TRUFFLES
PEPPERMINT BATH BOMB FIZZIES
Recipe here. The recipe only makes 3 bombs. I tripled the recipe.
VAPORUB SHOWER BOMBS
Recipe here. I found that these were not really strong enough to smell in the shower unless I used at least 3 cubes. If I made them again, I would consider adding several drops of essential oils as well – maybe eucalyptus, tea tree, lemongrass, etc.
