BACK PATIO REVEAL
08/07/2023It took a year and a half from start to finish but it’s finally done (almost). You can see HERE where we started. I can’t express to you how much I love the back patio. I literally spend every evening and many lunch breaks out here nine months out of the year. I look around at what we have accomplished since we’ve owned this house and dream of what is still to come. Life is good.
The back patio is broken up into multiple outdoor living areas. In the main sitting area I wanted plenty of seating options with room for all humans and pets.
The pavers still need to be sealed to bring out the colors in the stone but we can’t seem to get a weekend stretch without rain. Instead of holding out, I decided to go ahead and enjoy the patio until fall. When we put away everything for winter, I’ll seal the pavers then.
Over where the fire pit and storage boxes are in this photo is where the outdoor kitchen will be located. Hopefully that is a next summer project. You can see what we plan for it to look like HERE.
Next we have the dining area. This is the table we had when the patio was smaller. Eventually I would like to build a larger outdoor dining table. Until then, this one works just fine.
Finally we have the deck area. While it looks like a stage right now, eventually, it will look like THIS with a hot tub and stock tank pool. For now it holds the old patio furniture from our last house.
The cedar still needs to be stained but we have to wait for the wood to dry out. That will be another late fall project.
Adding flowers from the yard makes outdoor spaces feel more homey.
While we didn’t plan to complete this project on our own, getting contractors to show up proved to be a tough feat. Doing it ourselves makes the hard work that much sweeter.
