NOT-SO-SPOOKY BARN HALLOWEEN DECOR
10/03/2022I’m like a kid in a candy store this year with the Halloween decorations. It’s been a blast decorating the outdoor spaces with not-so-spooky decor. My favorite spot to decorate is the barn. We went all out this year. I think my favorite thing was simply changing out the regular light bulbs with orange bulbs. The photos don’t do it justice. It looks so cool.
To get a better look at everything, be sure to scroll to the bottom to see the decorations during the day.
The scene features six friendly skeletons exploring the barn.
And now for a little better look at everything in the daylight. The back of the barn is decorated, too, with an infestation of spiders for the neighborhood behind us to see as they drive down the hill.
It kind of looks like there’s a skelly frat party going on in this photo.
We cut apart an old pallet for the slats to board up the windows. They were perfectly aged and distressed.
The skeletons are all attached with zip ties.
It was a family affair. Our daughter helped, too. She just doesn’t like to be photographed.
A look from the inside. It can catch you off guard if you’re mindlessly walking by the window inside.
Yes, it’s been mentioned that this skeleton looks like it’s dancing on a pole. That was NOT the intention but I’m not going to mess with taking it down to reposition. It is what it is.
You know me. I’m all for faux. The ferns, mums and pumpkins are all faux and are used year after year. I used Gorilla Glue Dots to stick the pumpkins together so they don’t blow away in the wind.
I added faux cobwebs to the boards since I happened to have a bunch on hand from at least 15 years ago. It pays to be a hoarder of craft items.
I used the bats on the front of the house last year. This year they have come back to life on the barn patio.
That is this year’s Halloween barn look. What do you think? Any ideas for next year? It’s impossible for me to do the same thing twice so you know I’m already thinking of new additions for next year.
