FRONT PORCH | HALLOWEEN 2022
10/01/2022I’ve been so excited to put together this year’s Halloween front porch look. I’ve been waiting for sales and stocking up in the off season to create this display and I think it’s one of my favorites yet. If you are local and drive by, let me know what you think!
My light-up pumpkin family is from last year. They were originally orange and I spray painted them all white. They do light up but each takes three AAA batteries, the lights aren’t very bright, they don’t have timers and they have to be turned on and off individually each night. This year I got smart and purchased an inexpensive set of tealight candles with a remote and timer and stuck them in each pumpkin. They glow brighter, flicker like real candles and turn on and off by themselves each evening. So much better and cheaper than all the AAA batteries. They are light weight so I put small landscaping rocks in the bottom of each one. No blowing around this year.
This light-up spooky tree is new this year. It was a bit of a splurge which is why I purchased when on sale. It’s great quality and will last for years to come. It is currently out of stock from Grandin Road but typically comes back each year.
The tree is even better with the addition of a few black crows.
This cute fire wood holder is several years old. I got it from At Home but don’t see this exact style available online anymore. I use it to spruce up the bare porch in the winter, too.
My skeletons have made appearances around the house for many years. This year they made themselves at home in the rocking chairs.
My DIY concrete jack-o-lantern is displayed on my DIY tree stump table.
These black urns have been with me for years and years. I purchased them from Hobby Lobby and they used to be brown. When we moved to this house, I spray painted them black. In the summer they hold my ferns. This Halloween they look adorable with my new light-up urn fillers and a pumpkin.
I still have more I would love to add to the scene next year including a matching light-up wreath for the blank middle wall. I buy a few new things each year to add to my collection. Slowly but surely it gets better with time – kind of like all of us, right?
