This month the whole family is joining in to share our favorite things for recommendations from a twenty-something, nearly thirties, forty-something and a fifty year old. I know, you thought I would be the nearly thirty group but, surprise, I’m not.

CHRISTY B’S FAVORITE THINGS

Crossbody Bag // I’m not a huge crossbody purse fan but I do love this small bag for traveling. It’s like a fanny pack but not. It is big enough for just the essentials, keeps things secure and allows you to be hands free. And it’s cute! Watch for a sale to make it more affordable but don’t hesitate because it sells out quick.

Straw Sun Hat // Straw Visor // I get migraines when I’m in the sun for an extended time. And I’m getting old mature skin so I need to to protect my face as much as I can. (Better late than never, right?) This year I’ve decided I’m going to rock the hat no matter how ridiculous they look on me.

Faux Fern // Not very much sunlight in your house? Just don’t want to water plants? This faux fern is for you. The only care it needs is an occasional dusting. And it looks pretty darn real. I mix a few real-looking faux plants in with my live house plants in spots where there isn’t quite enough natural light for them to grow well. If you didn’t know better, you could never tell.

Self Tanning Lotion // Face Self Tanner // I have the skin of Casper the Friendly Ghost in his later years. Believe me when I tell you it looks better tan than not. I don’t have the time to get regular spray tans and my tanning bed days were not the smartest decision I ever made. The self tanner route works best for me but it must dry fast, not have to be showered off until the next day, not have much of a smell and not look orange. I’ve tried many options and I always go back to Coco & Eve.

Bedspread // When it comes to bedspreads, I have very specific needs. It can’t be too heavy for him or too lightweight for her. It must be machine washable and hold up to weekly washes due to the spoiled dogs that think it’s their bed and they just allow us to sleep in it. We have a king size bed so it can’t be too bulky that it won’t fit in the washing machine but not so small that it doesn’t cover the sides of the bed which is a thing with king bedspreads. I refuse to stuff inserts into a duvet cover weekly so those are a big fat NO. And it has to be a neutral color that won’t show dog hair. I’m a cheapskate so I typically opt for whatever comes close to fitting those criteria at the best price I can find ’cause bedspreads ain’t cheap. After searching high and low for just the right option, something told me to splurge a little on this Parachute bedspread and I’m so glad I did! It’s the perfect weight, buttery soft, reversible, hides the dog hair well and it’s king/California king size covers the mattress perfectly. The old adage is true – you get what you pay for – and this bedspread is luxury.

LOGAN & EMILY’S FAVORITE THINGS

Ice Face Roller // This was a TikTok influenced purchase…and I absolutely love it. I take 10 minutes every morning to roll this on my face. It helps wake me up, reduces puffiness and is so relaxing. This was a TikTok win for sure!

Tineco iFLOOR Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum & Mop // As a dog mom, keeping the floors clean is almost impossible. By the time I vacuum the floors and start mopping, more dog hair has accumulated and I’m pushing around wet dog hair. The Tineco iFLOOR Wet Dry Vacuum & Mop changed the game. It simultaneously vacuums and mops, has a spot treatment for muddy paw prints and works wonders on the never ending trails of dog slobber by the water bowls. As long as I have pups I will own one of these. So basically FOREVER.

Hydro Jug // I’m pretty consistent with going to the gym. but drinking enough water each day is still a big struggle. Turns out I’m a big fan of basic trends and so I ordered a Hydro Jug. Not having to refill my water glass over and over again, having a cute holder to carry it around, the fact that my friends all have one, and oh yeah, I guess the staying hydrated part have all contributed to why this is a favorite, worthwhile purchase.

Mosquito Bits // Thanks to the COVID pandemic, I become obsessed with houseplants. I didn’t really know how to care for them but the cheerful plants helped make the time spent at home a little better. Not knowing much about houseplant care, I soon found gnats around the house. Turns out that can happen when you bring new plants into your home. I learned that if you sprinkle a few of these mosquito bits on top of the soil in each pot, they kill off the gnat larvae as you water regularly. They also work great to help ward off mosquitoes outside sprinkled anywhere standing water is found.

Gnat/Fruit Fly Sticky Traps for House Plants // Once the gnat larvae is taken care of, be sure to trap any adult gnats flying around the house. Stick these in your plants and after about a week you should be gnat-free.

G-Shock Mens Watch // When you want something dressier than an iWatch, this watch fits the bill. It is water resistant, has a stopwatch, a timer, a calendar and you can set up to 5 daily alarms.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey Protein Powder // Tastes good, promotes muscle growth, is a high source of protein and helps you feel full longer which can aid in weight loss.

Men’s Thorogood Work Boots // The boots that are all the rage these days. Wear them to work or for good. American-made, genuine leather, stand up to wear and tear.

Milwaukee Cordless Oscillating Tool // For those starting out their tool collection, this is one to put on the list. It can be used for cutting wood, metal or drywall in tight spaces, sanding, removing grout and more.

KYLIE’S FAVORITE THINGS

Powder Dip Nail Set // This dip powder lasts a surprisingly long time and it’s fairly easy to do in the comfort of home.

ColourPop Blush Stix // I don’t wear a ton of make-up but I do add a little color to my face with this natural-looking blush stick for a sun kissed glow.

Layered Initial Necklace // The look of layering necklaces without the tangling. Simple, cute and you can wear it with anything.

KC Royals Hat // Supporting the Royals but in a neutral tone so it goes with anything.

Bubble in Paradise Body Wash // This smells so good and the scent lasts after the shower. It’s very moisturizing, as well. Love this stuff!
