MEET LOGAN & EMILY | FIRST HOME
03/01/2022I shared awhile back that my son purchased his first home last summer. He and his girlfriend, Emily, have been busy making the little house a home over the past several months. They have already tackled several remodel projects and have a long list to go. In addition to our own home projects, I thought it would be fun to share a look into their home, as well. For a fun twist, they are going to contribute posts here on the blog from a young couple’s point of view – as opposed to my old lady point of view.

And here is a peek inside their home. They have already completed a small kitchen upgrade by retiling the backsplash, DIYing the concrete countertop, adding open shelving for more storage and reconfiguring the cabinets to add a dishwasher. They are currently working on bathroom upgrades and have plans to replace the tile around the fireplace soon. They have turned several Craigslist finds into midcentury modern furniture for their home including the bar piece and the kitchen table and chairs. Logan made the bed headboard as a surprise for Emily. Emily is an avid plant enthusiast. And when the weather warms up they will begin to work on the outside, clearing a wooded area to double the size of their backyard and creating a firepit/sitting area. There are a lot of projects to be completed and I’m excited to have them start sharing their progress here on the blog.
