VALENTINE’S | NIGHT IN DATE IDEAS
02/05/2022I thought it would be fun to come up with some fun at-home couples date ideas for Valentine’s Day instead of the usual dinner out. It’s not only budget friendly, you don’t have to go out into the cold and fight the crowd at your favorite restaurant with all the other people doing the same thing. Instead, start a fire, light a few candles, turn on some music, cook your favorite meal together and maybe try out one of these fun ideas after the kids go to bed.
These ideas can easily be tweaked to enjoy with your Galentine’s friends, as well. Everyone deserves to be loved and have fun on Valentine’s Day.
COUPLES PAINT NIGHT
Grab a few paint supplies and try your hand at creating a work of art. Bonus – if it turns out decent, you can hang it in your home. Paint together on one canvas or each of you paint a design that can be hung together side-by-side showcasing both of your work. Check out YouTube or blogs for tutorials that walk you through step-by-step what to do. If you just want to wing it, Pinterest is great for couples painting ideas you can recreate.
Even in the dead of winter, start a fire in the fire pit, cuddle under a cozy blanket and enjoy a warm beverage for a bit.
Learn your partner’s love language. Try a free Enneagram test or love language test on the internet. It never hurts to learn about what makes your partner happy.
Learn a trending TikTok dance together or dance to your favorite slow songs.
Do a puzzle together.
Try couples yoga with the guy/gal that is anything but zen and have a good laugh.
Have a bake-off challenge. Each of you create a Valentine’s dessert. Include one random ingredient that must be incorporated into the final product. Enjoy taste testing each other’s creations when you’re done.
Create an indulgent craft cocktail that you wouldn’t normally make for yourselves.
Plan your dream trip. Even if it’s just a pipe dream – where would you go, what would you do, where would you stay? Or set a budget and see what trip you can come up with in that budget. If anything, you have just planned something that you would both enjoy and can save for in the future.
Buy a record player for your couples gift, turn down the lights and listen to your favorite tunes on vinyl.
Try a date night subscription box.
Write down your love story to record it for your kids or future family to read one day.
Have a blind taste test. Each of you secretly select a few things from the kitchen. Blindfold your partner and have them taste and identify the random food items.
Draw self portraits of each other.
Write down ten reasons why you love each other and share your answers.
