DIY PAINTED HALLOWEEN DOORMATS
09/28/2023Did you know painted doormats are actually very simple to DIY? You just need a blank coir doormat, some type of stencil and craft paint. I have seen cookie cutters used as stencils. Designs can also be traced on freezer paper and cut to make stencils. I used my trusty old Cricut and vinyl to make my stencils. Pretty much whatever you can dream up, can easily be painted on a doormat.
Just lay the stencil on a blank doormat. Secure the stencil with painters tape, if necessary. Use any paint, I used acrylic craft paint, and a stencil brush to tap on the paint. Paint can always be touched up with a paint brush after removing the stencil, if necessary.
I created my designs in Photoshop. If you don’t have Photoshop, you can use the free version of Canva to create designs, as well.
I thought I would share the designs I created for my Halloween doormats. Feel free to download and use for yourself. The templates are sized for an 18″x30″ doormat. Be sure to resize design if your doormat is a different size.
