I’ve had a history of bad headaches for as long as I can remember. I have gone months where I’ve had a headache 25 days out of 30 days. I tried quitting all soda. I tried different options with my diet. I tracked the weather versus my daily headaches on a calendar. Nothing worked. The only thing that would ease my headaches was Excedrine migraine. I popped them like candy to keep the pain at bay. In my attempt to figure out what was causing the headaches, I finally realized the high amount of caffeine in Excedrine migraine was actually a big part of what was causing my headaches. My body was looking for the caffeine. Caffeine can cause headaches by narrowing the blood vessels around the brain. I cut Excedrine migraine cold turkey and had a massive migraine for a week straight until it finally went away and the headaches subsided for the most part. Still to this day I only take Excedrine migraine as a last resort.

While the headaches went away for the most part for several years, I recently began having them again daily to the point of feeling extremely tired, dizzy and nauseous wondering if I should be driving home from work each day. It was so bad I was hoping for a referral to a neurologist that could help. The wait times to get into a specialist were six to nine months. By chance my friend asked me if I had tried the essential oil, Valor. I laughed and said “how is an oil going to help my headaches?” I used oils for the pleasant scents. I didn’t necessarily believe in their healing properties. But I was desperate. I would have tried almost anything at that point. So I purchased Valor from Young Living. And then the angels ascended from heaven as the choir danced and sang Hallelujah. I was healed.

In all seriousness, the first time I put a drop of Valor on my wrist and rubbed it in, my headache disappeared. No Excedrine migraine needed. Surely it couldn’t be that easy. I tried it again. Headache gone. I’ve been using Valor for 5 months now as soon as I feel a headache coming on. Nine times out of 10, a tiny drop of oil on my wrist causes my headaches to vanish. I am now a believer.

I AM NOT A DOCTOR. I am simply sharing my experience with Valor. I can attest that my daughter and son both get migraines and both have had luck with Valor helping relieve their headaches. Don’t get me wrong, I do still get headaches – sometimes multiple times a day. I still get the occasional migraine that nothing helps relieve. Not Valor, not Excedrine migraine. I share because I want anyone that experiences headaches to know there may be a medicine-free option that could help rid the pain.

Valor is a bit more expensive than other essential oils at about $50 per bottle. Trust me, my cheap a$$ would never pay that if it didn’t actually help. And while the bottle looks small, I’ve been using my original bottle for five months now, sometimes multiple times a day, and it’s still going strong. I will gladly pay $50 for 6 months of headache relief. Other essential oils said to help with headaches are peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus, chamomile and rosemary. Place a dot of oil on wrists, back of neck, temples or the spot of the pain.
