I took these photos last week as the first snow of the season started to fall. Currently, a week later, everything on the potting bench is hidden under 10 inches of snow. I can’t wait to be able to use it again for its intended purpose in the spring.

I kept it pretty simple this year and did something that worked, not only for Christmas, but the whole winter season. I’ve never left greenery out past Christmas but I like that it adds a touch of color in the winter. Also featured are my DIY concrete trees and pine cones collected from the yard.

A large wire basket holds birch logs I got at a local nursery and faux branches.

My potting bench sits right next to our garage door so it’s always decorated for the seasons. It makes me happy each time I pull in the garage. And, I need all the happy I can get to make it through the winter while we wait for 10+ inches of snow to melt.
