2024 PROJECT LIST
12/28/2023At the beginning of the year I shared our 2023 project list. It was a wish list of things I wanted to get done around the house before the end of the year. Looking at it, it doesn’t look like we completed much. However, 2023 was a full year of remodeling and the projects we did complete were big ones.
While the basement remodel is not complete, we got a good start on it. The craft room is complete and the rest of the basement is studded. I just realized I need to share a full craft room reveal once I get the pretty legs I want to add to the work bench as opposed to the 2x4s that are currently holding it up. …Coming in 2024…
The back patio project was a huge undertaking. One we hadn’t planned on doing ourselves. After unsuccessfully getting anyone to show up to do the work, we ended up doing it ourselves.
The DIY gallery rail shelves in the kitchen were our first project of the new year. It’s been fun decorating them for each season/holiday this year.
The spare bedroom turned master closet it now complete and I LOVE IT so much! I’ll be sharing it’s big reveal soon. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek I shared on Instagram.
The DIY console table was scratched because the piece of lumber we were going to recycle for the project wasn’t big enough.
The rest of the projects are left undone. There just isn’t enough time (or money) for everything. But overall, I’m thrilled with what we did accomplish this year on the house remodel. Slowly but surely, it’s coming along.
That leads me to the upcoming new year and an updated list of projects. You’ll see leftover items from last year and a few new things added. I know there is no way on earth we will complete it all. This is just a wish list. It’s fun to check things off and look back at the end of the year at what was accomplished.
I’m excited to add an entire basement of new living space to our home. It has been torn apart due to water damage since we moved in. All the water issues have since been fixed. Now it’s time to put it all back together again. It’s going to feel like we have double the living space when it’s complete. I can’t wait!
Another hopefully “for sure” project we’ll work on this summer is the new front sidewalk to match what we did on the back patio. We have to get that done before someone twists an ankle on the crumbling sidewalk there now.
I really would have love to get a built-in electric fireplace added to the master bedroom but it’s looking like our winter is going to be packed with vacation (we haven’t been on an actual vacation since 2013) so I can’t complain if we don’t get to the fireplace.
Here’s a look at my list for this year. There is so much more that we want to do around our home. This is just a small sampling of things to come.
