Day eight of this year’s holiday home tour gives you a peek into our yet-to-be-remodeled kitchen. While it serves us well, I long for the day when I reach into the cabinets and don’t get a splinter. A light and bright kitchen will be mine someday. Until then, the green countertops set off the Christmas decor well, yeah?

My DIY riser holds the simplest of Christmas decor.

Stacked cutting boards and Christmas serving trays are my favs…along with homemade sea salt caramels.

This is where my DIY star anise wreath moved after Thanksgiving. This hanging rack used to be where my gallery rail shelves are now. I love it here over the stove, too.

As you’ve seen from this year’s home tour, about half of the rooms in our house have been remodeled and half have not. It’s a slow process but there is no reason every space in the house can’t be decked out for the holidays. Any space is cute with a touch of Christmas decor.
