ENGAGED // It’s going to be a busy year. There is a wedding coming up. Our son is getting married. Welcome to the family, @emilygrace16!

I don’t take many portraits anymore but I dusted off the camera for some engagement photos. Here are a few of my personal favorites. A wedding/flash photographer I am not but it was fun shooting in such a cool place.

Logan and Emily are having a destination wedding this summer and the reception is going to be this September…in our barn. We’ve got a lot of planning to do. You know I love to throw a party! Stay tuned for peaks at all the wedding reception prep and DIY projects to come.

EDIBLE PEEPS PLAYDOUGH // Here is a fun Easter pro

EDIBLE PEEPS PLAYDOUGH // Here is a fun Easter project that is great for both the younger and older kiddos because it is colorful playdough but it’s also edible.

PEEPS EDIBLE PLAYDOUGH
5 Peeps
3T. powdered sugar
1 t. coconut oil

Place ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir to combine. On a sheet of waxed paper, dust with additional powdered sugar. Knead dough continuing to add powdered sugar until no longer sticky and fully combined. Repeat the process with different colored Peeps, if desired. Store in an airtight container.

Easter hair bows, pre-made Easter baskets, edible Peeps playdough, glitter squish balls, rotten egg whoopie cushions, egg yolk slime, Easter bath bombs, bunny print templates and more.

Also taking Easter pre-orders for our full-sized baked goods for pick-up next Friday and Saturday.

NOSTALGIC CHRISTMAS LOADING // The antique ornaments started it all. Collected from hand-me-downs and antique store finds, the ornaments and tinsel are all that were needed to create a gorgeous Christmas tree. The tree skirt from my childhood handmade by my mom brings back thoughts of Christmas mornings unwrapping presents by the tree. And the watercolor Santa painted by my Grandma gives me hope she’s looking down from heaven proud to see new Christmas magic is being made thanks to memories and mementos of Christmases past.

FAVORITE THINGS BULLETIN BOARD // Have you considered a bulletin board full of your family’s favorite things to enjoy?

I got the idea from @jlgarvin. She switches her board out each season with family photos, artwork, notes, cards, etc. They are always adorable.

I happened to have an old unopened $6 bulletin board I’d had for years stored in the basement so I made my own.

I gathered things that make me smile and layered them on the bulletin board. The kids are grown adults now. Their kindergarten Christmas gifts still remind me how quickly life passes by. Our first dog when we got married laying in the dining room of our first house, a felted “B” ornament and my favorite glitter star garland. A photo from our recent trip. Best $6 project I’ve ever done. It makes me smile each time I pass by.

Christmas but make it nostalgic. Here is a peek at this little area of our living room all done up for Christmas. I’m loving the way things are coming together this year using family hand-me-down items from our childhoods. The refurbished nativity set of my great-grandma’s, my husband’s grandma’s vintage ceramic tree, old Christmas records of my in-laws all come together to make a very special Christmas scene. ❤️

THANKSGIVING TABLE // Took some time tonight to play by candlelight setting up the table for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow and reflecting and all I have to be thankful for.

OFFICE CHRISTMAS TREE // Ooops, I seem to have added another Christmas tree to the collection this year. We are at 5 trees up so far this year but who's counting?

I work from home and the sparkle makes me happy so I added an inexpensive skinny flocked tree to the corner of my office. I only allowed myself to use on things I already owned to decorate. Ribbon from my hair bow making days since bows are all the rage for Christmas this year. Disco balls because one can't have too many. Tinsel that I reuse from year to year. An old ornament from collage with my name in glitter. And a blanket I hand-knitted years ago as the tree skirt. I think it turned out pretty darn cute and matches the colors in my office perfectly. It goes to show Christmas decorations don't have to be extravagant to be beautiful.

Now to decorate the rest of the office with more of my favorite things - ribbons and disco balls. Stay tuned.
