I am one that likes to change things up each year when I decorate for Christmas. This year I’m struggling with what I want to do. The past two years I’ve done classic red and green. I don’t want to buy anything new but I want to do something a little different this year. My record player setup may have sparked an idea. Perhaps I’ll do a vintage Christmas this year. I’m a sucker for family heirlooms and this setup was the perfect spot for my husband’s vintage ceramic Christmas tree passed down by from his grandma and holiday books from my childhood. Though I’ll miss it dearly as soon as the nasty, cold weather arrives, it’s out with summer… …and in with fall. It’s actually still a little bit of both seasons right now and I’ll happily take that. I kept the setup pretty much the same as summer and just switched a few of the tired summer plants out with lush fall plants and added a few pumpkins. I actually grew all of the pumpkins here but the biggest one on the top right. Added in a dead tree limb from the yard and fall has arrived. This is the first time I’ve grown broom corn.
